So your website is getting loads of traffic but?failing to convert visitors into leads.?There are a number of reasons as to why people back out of making an online purchase.?Your job is to make sure that your website is not one of them.?Here are six reasons why your?website is?still struggling in the conversion department.
1. Your Shopping Cart is Hard to Find
It has happened to everyone. They sift through a website, carefully selecting items only to find that the checkout button has eluded them. If your website is difficult to navigate you will miss out on an untold number of sales.
An easy way to fix this problem is to put a Shopping Cart button on every page, preferably on or close to the top menu bar.
2. Too Many Fields on Your?Forms?
Don’t waste time, your customer’s time is one of the most devastating ways to drive your website’s conversion down. People who are surfing the web need instant gratification, and the faster the better. If your form asks too many questions or takes too long to complete, your potential customers may leave your site.
Ask?for only essential info. Once you have that you can effectively build a customer/business relationship.
3. You aren’t Using?Testimonials
Making an online sale is all about building trust. Unlike a brick-and-mortar store, your customer cannot talk to a customer representative, try out products, or get to know your brand. This makes testimonials absolutely essential to building trust with potential buyers.
A great way to do this is with a section of your website dedicated to testimonials and/or comments. Give your users a chance to speak their minds while building confidence in your product.
4. Your Landing Page is Missing the Target
The landing page is the billboard of the internet marketing world, the smiling face at the counter, and the product description all rolled into one neat package. Your visitors need to be presented with a?clean?page that is concise and to-the-point. If your landing page is scattered or overloaded with too much information?your visitors will just go somewhere else.
Optimize your page layout by using the “F” pattern. Internet users look from top left and across, and to a lesser extent middle/middle and?left side bottom of a page. Make sure the most important elements are placed in prominent locations.
5. You?re Not Emphasizing your Unique Selling Point
Whether you are selling your own products or somebody else’s, you need to demonstrate what makes that product better than the competition. The Unique Selling Point (USP) is the one aspect of a product that sets it aside from others, thus creating product differentiation. This can be a number of things including free delivery, strong imagery, or a hassle-free return policy.
The USP needs to be emphasized in the product copy in order to compel visitors to make a purchase.
6. Your pages are loading too slowly
Many web developers and e-commerce owners opt for flashy scripts and graphics. Little do they know that these complex elements take a longer time to load than their simpler counterparts. Not only does slow load time greatly reduce the user experience, it may even affect a website’s search engine ranking. A?slow website could be costing you lots of money.
Keep your website simple. Test your page load times and remove elements that are slowing it down.
Don’t fall victim to low conversion rates. Correct?these six problems or avoid them altogether and your will enjoy higher conversion rates with plenty of sales for the foreseeable future.
